Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development.
- Regularly prepare and review critical financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Lead and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring financial strategies align with the company’s overall objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with different departments to support business operations and contribute to strategic planning.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct thorough financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
- Oversee the optimization of cash flow by forecasting and managing reserves to ensure smooth business operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax regulations by timely filing tax returns and other necessary documents.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor financial performance, recommending strategies to improve cost control and profitability.
- Coordinate and manage the annual review engagement process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with ERP systems.
- Strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
