m, and clients. Our client is currently looking for a Construction Manager. The Construction Manager reports to the Vice President, Operations, and is responsible for planning and managing the stages of the construction project. The Construction Manager will oversee work schedules, delegate tasks to the project team, and ensure the projects are safely completed on time and within budget. This position is located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership to construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Effectively communicate project goals, objectives, and expectations to all stakeholders.
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate constructions projects from start to finish.
- Manage the project management team on various projects.
- Manage the value engineering process, when required.
Project Planning:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Ensure alignment with client expectations and regulatory standards.
- Interview candidates for job openings in the Operations Department
Resource Management:
- Manage and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Oversee the project contracts and mitigate the impact of unforeseen issues.
- Apply for substantial performance and total completion.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions to avoid delays and disruptions.
- Ensure constant compliance with Health and Safety Program and Policy and Procedures Manual.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and costs throughout the project lifecycle. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety.
- Manage the logistical requirement of a project according to schedule, specifications and budget.
- Manage the budget process.
- Review the project budget, labour, and project plans to ensure construction is on schedule.
- Review and authorize sub-trade and material payments and ensure accurate cost coding.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections to maintain the highest level of quality.
- Ensure that deficiencies are dealt with in a timely manner.
Communication:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between project stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions to clients, senior management, and team members.
- Liaison between project/construction team and Trade Partners.
- Conduct site visits to inspect work, check materials, and ensure staff are following the construction schedule.
- Assist in securing new work by participating in estimates, proposals and presentations as requested.
Change Management:
-Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget. Evaluate change requests, assess their impact, and communicate adjustments to relevant parties.
- Inform Senior Management about the cost and progress of the projects.
- Participate in the design process, when required.
Client Relationship:
- Cultivate positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally. Strive to exceed client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with owners, clients, consultants, trades, and the public while promoting services and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Meet with clients and design teams.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, permits, plans, schedules, and reports. Ensure proper version control and accessibility.
- Review construction progress, financials, and contract administration.
- Skills And Attributes

- Able to resolve project disputes effectively in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil/Construction/Architectural) or Technical College diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in the ICI construction industry or minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager/ Construction Manager in ICI construction.
- Experience working on Net Zero, Prefabrication, Modular, or Green Construction projects is an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling and safety requirements
- Gold Seal Certified is an asset
- LEED Accredited Professional is an asset
- WELL Accredited Professional is an asset
- Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of Suretrak, Primavera P3 or P6 is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Procore and BIM software knowledge an asset
