Our client, a high-tech company located in Saint-Laurent, is seeking a CNC Programmer for a one-year renewable contract. Reporting to the production team, the selected candidate will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs based on technical drawings and 3D models, using specialized software such as Mastercam and Vericut. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate machining tools, configuring cutting parameters, transferring instructions to the CNC machine, and ensuring smooth production operations. The ideal candidate is fluent in French, has strong CNC machining knowledge, and solid experience in CNC programming. Experience with post-processors, production support, and VPSS are considered assets.
Work Schedule: Evening shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM), flexible hours
Work Mode: On-site required 4–5 days/week during the first 4 months, then hybrid
Location: Saint-Laurent, Quebec
Hourly Rate: Up to $43/hr (T4)
Duration: One-year contract, renewable
Important: Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents in order to obtain Controlled Goods clearance.

Responsibilities
• Read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models of parts to be manufactured
• Program CNC machines using specialized software (e.g., Mastercam, Vericut)
• Select the appropriate machining tools for each operation
• Set cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth) to ensure machining quality
• Generate CNC programs (G-code) and transfer them to the machines
• Perform tests to validate programs before production
• Monitor CNC machine operation and intervene in case of technical issues
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth operations
• Participate in the continuous improvement of machining processes
Qualifications
• Postsecondary diploma in mechanical, machining, or related field
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and machine operation
• Proficiency in CNC programming software such as Mastercam and Vericut
• In-depth knowledge of machining processes (precision machining, tool selection, parameter adjustments)
• Skills in reading technical drawings and interpreting 3D models
• Ability to generate and optimize CNC programs (G-code)
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Bilingualism (French and English) required for effective communication within the team
