Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and more.
Review blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other documentation to understand task requirements and desired outcomes.
Convert instructions into computer commands to ensure accurate machine function.
Load and prepare raw materials and parts for machining.
Conduct test runs to verify that machines meet specified requirements.
Program machines to run full cycles for mass production of parts.
Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Perform daily maintenance checks on machinery to ensure proper operation.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience as a CNC operator.
Proficiency in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement instruments.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
Basic knowledge of computer programming, CAD/CAM software, and computer systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and solid math skills.
Attention to detail and a focus on achieving accurate, high-quality results.
Effective communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or diploma in engineering or a related field is a plus.
Completion of an apprenticeship program is required or equivalent.
