Responsibilities
- Ensure that trips are maximized (no vacancies)
- Assist & train drivers in loading & unloading routines
- Ensure drivers respect and comply with law 430
- Do road test with trucks for garage and also assist in moving them
- Ensure that all drivers complete their RDS and log book in their cell phone.
- Inspect trips to CN and other locations, loaded and empty trucks
- Check that drivers complete their pre-departure and return mechanical checks
- Inspect vehicles with LDS
- Ensure that our drivers comply with company health and safety rules, and introduce 1 safety topic per month
- Comprehensive training of new drivers in compliance with the Canada work program.
- Ensure compliance of trucks and binders with MIR
- Participate in damage meetings and inform drivers of improvements and new features.
- Participate in the “Transportez Vert” program (diesel/petrol savings)
- Approve drop/reload with trip drawing
- Accompany drivers on the road
- Master the risk prevention program and apply it to drivers
- Travel to our various terminals
- Participate in various company committees as required
- Investigate and analyze accidents (road & work)
Qualifications
- At least 3 years' experience in the vehicle transport industry
- Competence in andragogy (adult education)
- Knowledge of the PEVL (an asset)
- Knowledge of Law 430, Highway Safety Code
- Physical ability to stand and move around, working at heights
- Class 1 driver's license
