Responsibilities
◾Development of Civil Engineering Plans and Documentation for land development and municipal projects, including subdivisions, site layouts, road upgrades, parking lot replacements, and similar initiatives.
◾Design of civil infrastructure elements, covering site servicing, grading, stormwater management, watermains, storm and sanitary sewer systems, noise studies, and related components.
◾Project management responsibilities, including proposal assistance, overseeing projects from start to finish, acting as the primary point of contact with stakeholders, and having expertise in the Site Plan Application and Draft Plan conditions processes.
◾Review and validate civil engineering documents (calculations, reports, and drawings) to ensure precision, thoroughness, and compliance with design standards.
◾Manage daily priorities within the team to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.
◾Provide technical leadership and guidance to designers and junior team members.
◾As needed, assist with the preparation and review of tender and contract documents and serve as the contract administrator.
Support field staff with site investigations, perform general construction reviews, and prepare related reports when necessary.
◾Collaborate with the project team throughout all phases, from initial design to project completion.
◾Coordinate the integration of multiple discipline designs and drawings across all aspects of the project.
◾Act as the company’s representative in communications with approval authorities and third-party parties for project coordination.
Qualifications
◾A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
◾A minimum of 4 years of experience in Civil Engineering, specifically in land development consulting and design.
◾Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or be within 6 months of obtaining it
◾Familiarity with provincial and local municipality design standards, the Ontario Building Code, and other Canadian engineering regulations.
◾Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Civil3D.
◾Capable of managing or working on multiple projects simultaneously, across different phases.
