Responsibilities
Oversee the timely completion of all month-end accounting tasks and financial reporting.
Manage the accurate and prompt preparation of monthly close documents, including maintaining organized files and ensuring reconciliation of all sub-ledger and general ledger accounts for both operational and holding entities. ( up to and including draft financials)
Execute and review month-end reconciliations, such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other related tasks.
Reconcile month-end inventory accounts, prepare necessary inventory adjustments, and monitor consignment account activity.
Contribute to the development of the company’s budget.
Conduct preliminary analysis of monthly financial results against budget projections.
Prepare weekly updates on cash flow status.
Handle the preparation and submission of monthly sales tax returns.
Establish and enhance internal controls and procedures to optimize efficiency.
Assist in year-end activities, including inventory counts and audits.
Maintain and update accounting procedure manuals and financial policies, including database management.
Support the Controller on special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.
Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, and Accounts Payable functions when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA( An asset)
Bilingual ( strong English)
Strong Excel skills
Experience working with an ERP
