Responsibilities
In this Cash Application Specialist role in Markham, you will be responsible for the following:
- Process and apply customer payments (ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards) to the correct accounts
- Reconcile daily cash receipts and research discrepancies or unapplied payments
- Collaborate with internal teams (Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Customer Service) to resolve payment issues
- Maintain accurate records of cash applications and adjustments in the ERP system
- Investigate and resolve deductions, short payments, and unapplied cash transactions
- Prepare reports on payment trends, unapplied cash, and reconciliation issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices
Qualifications
In this Cash Application Specialist in Markham, you will require the following:
- Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting or bookkeeping is an asset.
- 1 + years of experience in cash/payment applications is required.
- Prior experience working with master data is a strong asset.
- Experience with SAP is a strong asset.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
