Responsibilities
May include any of the below
Design Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
Material Selection:
Choose appropriate materials for cabinet construction, such as wood, laminates, veneers, and other finishing products.
Cutting and Shaping:
Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood or wood substitutes to form cabinets and related products.
Assembly:
Assemble parts to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and clamps. Ensure joints are securely fastened and precise.
Finishing:
Sand, stain, and finish surfaces of cabinets, ensuring smooth and polished finishes. Apply sealants, varnishes, and other finishes as required.
Installation:
Install cabinets, counters, and other fixtures according to the specified design and layout. Ensure proper alignment and secure attachment to walls and floors.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed cabinets for defects and ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Make adjustments and repairs as necessary.
Customization:
Create custom designs as per client requirements, ensuring unique specifications and preferences are met.
Safety Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Properly maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly maintain and calibrate tools and machinery to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Qualifications
Cabinet making experience - 2-3 years
Cabinet making school or a ticket is an asset
