Responsibilities
Identify, select, and qualify local and international suppliers.
Continuously research new products and suppliers to diversify the offering.
Ensure the qualification of products and suppliers in terms of quality and adherence to deadlines.
Negotiate commercial terms: pricing, lead times, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
Monitor market trends (raw materials, innovations, regulatory changes).
Collaborate with different departments to determine needs and quantities to order.
Manage inventory and product availability in coordination with internal teams.
Develop measurement tools to align inventory levels with production capabilities.
Facilitate communication between departments (production, planning, quality, sales, and accounting) and suppliers.
Maintain a database of purchase specifications, suppliers, and prices.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
College or university degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in chemical product procurement, preferably in an industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of SAP.
Skills to Prioritize:
Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written (mandatory).
Good knowledge of chemicals and regulations (an asset).
Understanding of local and international chemical raw material markets.
Excellent negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
Proficiency in procurement management tools (SAP) (an asset).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of interdepartmental relationships.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Responsible with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Dynamic, self-reliant, and versatile.
Ability to work in a growing environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
