Responsibilities
•Elicit, validate, and document business requirements for current operational practices related to the document(s) creation and lifecycle process in use by Edmonton Police Service through a variety of
techniques and methods as defined in the Business Analyst Body of Knowledge (BABOK)
•Organize and facilitate meetings/focus groups and training sessions with business unit “end-users”
•Author, review and assist in the creation of deliverables such as business requirements, process models (swim-lane), functional specifications, and end-user documentation
•Prepare pre-project documentation such as Business Analysis Plans, Analysis Strategy, questionnaires, briefing notes, etc
•Participate in and lead the development, documentation, execution, and implementation of all requirements, testing, and training phases
•Ensure stakeholders are engaged in the development of project objectives and deliverables including strategies associated with user acceptance testing, communications, training, and implementation
•Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
•Prioritize work based on business need and management direction
•Work with technical, business and project management resources to develop time and resource estimates
•Aid in the development of training material
•Advising business management on the application of information technology solutions, including fit-gap analysis, process modelling and identifying areas that could be refined or streamlined to create
efficiency
•Performing related duties as required

Qualifications
Requirements
• 5+ years of business analysis experience
• Hands-on experience with requirement gathering
• Proven history of current process facilitation, documentation, and mapping
• Strong abilities in future state process mapping
• Familiarity with police operational processes an asset
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills with a strong focus on customer service
Effective planning, presentation, and time management skills
Exceptional listening skills with the ability to facilitate feedback from stakeholders
Comfortable communicating with senior management & sworn members
Effective problem solving and collaboration skills
Ability to pass an enhanced security clearance
