Responsibilities
Operate cutting/burning machines
Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace.
Identify, investigate, correct and document potential production problems.
Receive training and comply with Health and Safety requirements
Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
Maintain high production efficiency for own workstation
Identify and determine quality and productivity related problems and solutions.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Operate forklift and overhead crane as needed
Provide instruction and assistance to material handlers as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of direct work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Direct knowledge handling steel (handling, cutting, storage and care).
Strong inventory and production management skills.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
Good working knowledge of ISO 9000 systems.
Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
Detail-oriented and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of product identification and traceability.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Ability to lift 30 lbs.
Willingness to learn and train in workplace related compliance information.
