Our client in East Mississauga is looking for a permanent Burner Machine Operator.
The Burner/Operator will be responsible for the burning steel profiles on either plasma or oxyacetylene
burning machines, according to Work Order instructions. This position will require that
the employee be familiar with measuring using measuring tapes both in metric (MM) and

imperial (inches) measurements. The Burner should be able to do own machine setup and first
piece measurement and qualification. He/she also should be able to work independently to
produce parts that meet customer requirement (quality and on time).

Responsibilities
Job Duties
Operate cutting/burning machines
Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace.
Identify, investigate, correct and document potential production problems.
Receive training and comply with Health and Safety requirements
Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality,
safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
Maintain high production efficiency for own work station
Identify and determine quality and productivity related problems and solutions.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Operate forklift and overhead crane as needed
Provide instruction and assistance to material handlers as needed.
Qualifications

Quality Orientation: able to use linear measuring tapes and other instruments
Operate Lifting Devices: able to operate forklifts and overhead cranes
Root Causing and Problem Solving
Accountability and Dependability
Decision Making and Judgement
Operate Plasma and Oxy-acetylene Burning Equipment
Measure and inspect own work
Excellent Communication Skills/Team Work
Knowledge of Steel Industry Working Knowledge
Understand blue print and CAD drawings.
Minimum 1 year of direct work experience in manufacturing environment.
Direct knowledge handling steel (handling, cutting, storage and care).
Strong inventory and production management skills.
Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with
vendors, customers, and internal departments.
Should have a good working knowledge of ISO 9000 systems.
Highly capable of multi-tasking, with minimal supervision.
Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
Able to interface directly with cross functional teams.
Knowledge of product identification and traceability.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Summary
Remuneration: 25$-27$/hr. depending on experience.
