Responsibilities
· Answer incoming phone calls to assist and direct claimants and representatives in a professional and empathetic manner
· Contacting class members to obtain required information, documentation, or confirmations when necessary
· Communicating with claimants and their representatives through the phone, email, fax, and mail
· Enter, review, and verify data from paper or electronic forms into a standard database
· Preparing notifications to claimants pertaining to claim status, review decisions, and instructions.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience communicating with clients / patients / or stakeholders over the phone
Experience in data entry
Bilingualism (English/French) imperative with the ability to speak an Indigenous language (i.e.,
Cree languages, Inuktitut, Ojibway etc.) is considered an asset
Knowledge of Indigenous culture is an asset
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience using a VOIP / Internet phone service is desirable
Other Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to accuracy and maintaining high quality deliverables
Self-motivated, with an ability to work effectively with a minimal amount of supervision
Works well under pressure with a high attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals who are potentially experiencing trauma
