Responsibilities
- Conducts risk analysis and financial management for specific categories, including proactive evaluation and recommendations for initial advance requests, mid-season updates, and end-of-season reviews.
- Assists in preparing monthly management reports, including variance analysis for sales and expenses against forecast, plan, or prior year, and contributes to the development of season forecasts and projections.
- Makes informed recommendations to mitigate business risks while maintaining positive relationships with growers, supporting profitable growth, and expanding grower produce volumes.
- Provides mid-season sensitivity analyses to assess projected end-of-season positions for each grower, focusing on profitability and grower returns.
- Supports in developing risk-mitigating pricing programs
- Reviews and analyses internal clients expenses (market-based costs) for reasonableness and applicability in cash flows, costing models, or claims.
- Assists in the development of annual business plans for specific categories and monitors performance relative to those plans, ensuring proactive steps are taken to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
- Prepares cash flow and forecasting updates as per departmental guidelines in a timely manner.
- Develops market analysis reports based on internal data sources for assigned categories.
- Prepares forecasting models related to commodity sales, special program sales, and crop forecasts as part of pre-season analysis.
- Provides timely and clear reports on internal clients issues, offering data-driven insights that support effective decision-making.
- Conducts post-season analysis for assigned categories, evaluating retail performance, distribution, and inventory management.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop costing models, program pricing, and market reports for program sales bids. Ensures consistency in services and reporting for category program leaders.
- Participates in additional financial projects and business analysis as assigned.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in accounting, including cash flow management, financial forecasting, and the preparation of actualized financial statements.
