Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Plater/Heat Treater to join their manufacturing team in Sidney, BC. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in aircraft manufacturing. • Pay Range:
– $27.05/hr (no experience)
– $34.79/hr (with experience)
– $37.56/hr (with Kushner Electro course)
• Additional $1.75 shift differential for evening shifts
• Initial training on morning shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) before transitioning to evening shift
• Regular shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM

Responsibilities
• Perform heat treatment and plating processes on carbon steels, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys per customer specifications.
• Conduct anodizing, passivation, and chemical conversion coatings as required.
• Clean and prepare components for welding and painting operations.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and customer quality standards.
• Complete necessary checks on instruments, equipment, and solutions.
• Assist in training and supervising junior employees.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Handle chemicals safely and efficiently.
• Meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Complete training and the Kushner electro-plating course (if no plating experience).
Qualifications
• Canadian provincial or inter-provincial plating certification, Kushner Electro-Plating Know-How course, or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Ability to safely store and manage consumable materials.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.
• No prior plating experience? Full training provided, with completion of the Kushner electro-plating course in 4-6 months.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with chemicals and following safety protocols.
• Must be comfortable handling parts and dipping into chemicals.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and adaptability.
• Local to the island or willing to relocate.
• Ability to work evening shifts after training.
