Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk includes;
Accounts Payable:
•Match packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices; verify pricing, quantities, and GL codes.
•Prepare and enter invoices, credit notes, and manual cheques in Sage Accpac 300.
•Track returned goods and ensure credits are received.
•Prepare and issue payments, including manual cheques and EFTs.
Month-End Reporting:
•Post batches and generate reports: Invoice Batch Lists, Posting Journal, Open Payables, Aged Payables, and GL summaries.
•Reconcile and file invoices, cheques, and payment records accurately.
Reception Duties:
•Answer phones and greet visitors.
•Perform general administrative support as required.
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in an accounts payable or general accounting support role
• Diploma or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
• Familiarity with basic invoice processing and matching purchase orders to packing slips
• Comfortable using accounting software (experience with Sage 300 is an asset)
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
• Team-oriented, with a positive and professional attitude
