Responsibilities
As an accounting technician, here’s what your daily routine looks like:
Weekly processing of the full payroll cycle for CAD and USA employees;
Compile, process, and verify payroll data;
Maintain records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate compensation and benefits;
Prepare and verify employee statements;
Prepare employment records;
Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve issues within your scope of responsibility;
Participate in improving and optimizing payroll processes;
Make payroll-related journal entries;
Prepare and update various analysis reports;
Client account transactions (billing clients, sending account statements, collecting client accounts);
Receipt of payments;
Match supplier receipts with invoices;
Record supplier invoices;
Process payables each week in the accounting system;
Other related tasks.
Qualifications
DEP, DEC in accounting, or equivalent market experience;
3-5 years of experience in a similar position;
Experience in the manufacturing field (a strong asset);
Knowledge of Sage accounting software and Employer D payroll system (an asset);
Knowledge of SAP Business One software (a major asset);
Excellent command of Excel in the MS Office suite;
Proficiency in French (spoken and written), and functional English is an asset.
