Responsibilities
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accountant duties will include:
- Oversee general ledger management, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, including processing payments and collections
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Process and remit HST returns while staying up to date with tax legislation
- Assess and enhance internal financial processes to improve efficiency
- Maintain confidential employee personnel and payroll records
- Perform bank reconciliations and support financial audits
- Assist with year-end reporting, financial analysis, and budgeting
- Provide administrative support, including order entry, shipping, and occasional receptionist duties
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new software
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data with discretion
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
