Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and pressure vessels to ensure continuous and safe operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Monitor and maintain all plant utility systems, including steam generation, compressed air, and food grade hydraulics, to guarantee optimal performance.
Conduct routine inspections and complete work orders, documenting all maintenance activities according to regulatory and company standards.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure minimal disruptions and provide immediate support during equipment failures or emergencies.
Adhere strictly to workplace safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and responsiveness among colleagues.
Stay compliant with company protocols, union agreements, and industry regulations, ensuring the facility meets all operational and environmental standards.
Continuously contribute to process improvements, identifying areas where efficiency and safety can be enhanced.
Qualifications
What you bring:
Valid 4th Class Power Engineer ticket from BC (or a 5th Class ticket with a refrigeration endorsement).
3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a food processing or heavy industrial environment.
Proficient in handling ammonia refrigeration systems and various boiler operations.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices and equipment troubleshooting.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a safety-first mindset.
