Normal office conditions. Working on detailed drawings using computer assisted drafting equipment and GFIS. Occasional field work.

Responsibilities
Work Assignment Requirements:
Utilizing manual and computer assisted drafting, develops, produces, and updates a full range of drawings and maps from sketches, field notes, source documents, written or verbal instruction such as:
* all overhead, underground civil/electrical, submarine and metering drawings.
determines, calculates, and produces drawings involving smart devices including but not limited to reclosers, distribution capacitors, switches, CTs/PTs
all underground drawings including drawings with profiles.
schematic, one line and operating drawings or maps involving vista switches, feeder cable designs.
substation or building layouts and transmission line maps.
* ensures that all essential design data has been received; researches relevant information from other sources such as previous project or other standards; performs simple calculations to determine dimensions, elevations, and slopes; checks for obvious conflicts or missing information; determines the most appropriate layout of drawing and design presentation.
* Prepares drafting work for RTO operators/Schedulers and PAs. Perform PA coordination efforts from receiving, posting and related process. Checks PA’s for completeness and accuracy and recommends approval of full or partial designs; refers problems to Distribution Design work leader for resolution.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to others. May be required to maintain even workflow to ensure RTO operations.
Qualifications
Must haves :
- A minimum four (4) years of drafting experience or equivalent.
- Proven CADD experience, pay attention to details
- Ability to respond and manage priorities.
- Verbal skills - strong communication skills written and spoken English.
- Be a self starter and have experience in fast paced working environments.
Asset:
- Prior experience in design or operations
