Responsibilities
- Work with product management and lines of business to gather and analyze customer requirements and translate them into engaging and effective UI experiences.
- Ideate and conceptualize innovative UI solutions to solve complex end-user challenges.
- Produce personas and customer journey maps, wireframes and prototypes.
- Lead design review sessions with internal stakeholders, reaching consensus and getting approvals on designs.
- Work closely with front-end developers and other product team members to successfully build, test and deploy cutting-edge user interfaces and UI components.
- Establish product-specific UI/UX vision and standards while adhering to branding and accessibility guidelines.
- Lead customer experience and usability studies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- 3+ years' hands-on experience using Figma to design web application features and assets.
- 3+ years' experience providing UX/UI leadership and defining best practices and methodologies: user-centered design, design thinking, and design sprints.
- 8+ years' UX experience designing web applications, preferably enterprise portals and websites, mobile, and responsive experience.
- 3+ years' experience with facilitation skills and leading client workshops.
- 5+ years' experience designing user interfaces for Web Applications.
- The candidate must include a Digital Portfolio of recent work with the candidate submission included as an attachment along with their resume.
Desired Skills:
- A degree in design or a design-related discipline (user-centred design, visual design, human factors, human-computer interaction, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience designing web-enabled digital solutions.
- Experience with UX design for Web Portals (5+ years).
- Expert knowledge of information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, and user experience principles and techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of branding, layout, color theory, typography and photography.
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, user stories, user flows, low and high-fidelity designs and prototyping.
- Experience with UI design.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Axure (3 years).
- Experience in usability testing and accessibility compliance (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)).
- Understanding of current and emerging technologies, design patterns, industry trends and standards, device and browser capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to team members.
- Comfortable working within tight timeframes and with working creatively within specific constraints.
- An impressive portfolio of recent work demonstrating UI/UX expertise in designing web and mobile applications.
