Responsibilities

My client is seeking an Intermediate Highway Engineer for their Kingston office.
Duties will include,
Providing input into preparation of engineering service proposals;
Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
Assisting senior staff with engineering design on a variety of projects such as highway rehabilitation, passing lanes, structure rehabilitations, preliminary design, etc.;
Overseeing the work of engineering interns and technologists and providing guidance and mentoring to more junior staff;
Preparing technical specifications and reports; and
Preparation of contract drawings, contract documents, and specifications for the design of highways, freeways, drainage features and structures.

Qualifications:

Must be licenced as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.)
Five to ten years of related experience;
Must have three to four years of MTO preliminary or detail design experience;
Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, CPS, HiCO, InRoads;
Experience with all aspects of highway / freeway design (e.g. alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety, constructability);
General understanding of other road design requirements (e.g. drainage / hydrology design, traffic engineering, structural (bridge) engineering, environmental design / mitigation measures, engineering surveys, geotechnical investigations and design, electrical engineering);
