Responsibilities
This role will be instrumental in analyzing the production of goods or services within the organization. Oversee the calculations of revenue, cost of goods sold, and financial statement reporting. Through detailed financial analysis and insights, you'll actively contribute to boosting operational efficiency, optimizing profitability.
- Analyze product/service cost structure (direct and indirect) for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Conduct variance analysis comparing actual costs to budgeted/standard costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for implementing cost-saving initiatives and process enhancements.
- Create regular COG reports and dashboards for management review, highlighting KPIs, cost trends, and variance analysis.
- Finalizing the month-end reconciliations for the Balance Sheet
- Creating and distributing internal consolidated financial statements.
Qualifications
- A degree in accounting or a related field is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERPs and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- 3 + years of experience in financial accounting
- Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity while being able to maintain tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and cost accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to Travel within Canada and the USA
