be on the lookout for scams and cybercrimes.

Please be aware that there is an increasing number of scams happening in Canada. Scammers pose as a recruiter of a Randstad company by contacting people (e.g., via email, letter, phone, social media, SMS, WhatsApp) about a “suitable position” – either a real vacancy of a Randstad company or a fake one. Alternatively, they may try to tempt people to contact them by placing fake job adverts on employment websites, using the name and/or Randstad brand.

Scammers request from their “potential victims” that they provide them with all kinds of personal information and sometimes ask them to make one or multiple payments.

recommendations for candidates and clients

In Canada, you can forward any spam text messages to 7726 (SPAM on most keypads). This will instruct your phone provider to block future texts from that number. On whatsapp, we recommend you report the message, block the sender, and delete the message.

If you have been a victim of a scam, fraud or cybercrime, please contact your local police as soon as possible. If you suspect that you or someone you know has fallen victim to a phishing scam, don’t hesitate to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to report it.
