Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in all calls and investigations for workplace incidents
Provide accurate interpretations of applicable Provincial and Federal OHS legislation
Identify deficiencies at branch level to assist in the development of H&S initiatives
Actively engage and support in activities such as safety program implementation, internal and external H&S audits, safety performance management, and proactive initiatives aimed at injury reduction
Assess risk management and implement solutions to mitigate risk
Liaise with contractors and regulators to facilitate and initiate H&S activities
Develop effective and interactive H&S presentations, workshops, and training programs to enhance employee knowledge and participation
Conduct training sessions for employees on Forklift and Power Equipment operation
Qualifications
Academic & Trade Qualifications:
Certification in one or more of the following: OH&S System Building, OHS Roles & Responsibilities for Managers & Supervisors, Hazard Assessment & Control, and Joint H&S Committees/Representatives
Minimum of two (2) years of OHS experience
Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety legislation
Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementing corrective actions
Ability to train, supervise, and coach
Capacity to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Experience within the produce industry would be advantageous
